Caving History I first started caving in college in 1966 and caved fairly regularly form 1966-71. Then I spent about four years in Minnesota where I only did one major cave trip. I returned to the east coast in 1975 and got involved with organized caving in 1977 when I joined first Monongahela grotto and then the NSS. Following my separation from my wife in 1980 I really got involved.

While my primary activity has been cave paleontology. I have done a lot of surveying as well. I have caved in about half the states in the US including Alaska and Hawaii and also Puerto Rico. I have done international caving in Mexico, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Bermuda, Tobago and Madagascar.

I am the owner of Haynes Cave in Monroe county. I have been to every OTR since 1978 and every NSS Convention but 2 starting in 1979.
