The red camera light was still blinking, albeit dimmer than 6 years ago. There was a small amount of trash in the front of the cave that I had made arrangements with Central Connecticut Grotto to clean up when they visited the cave that afternoon.

I stopped by IFC after the Conservancies Forum (18 April) to refill the literature holders. There were 3 vehicles parked there, and people milling around. I found that it was a local youth group from Covington that were having a church service in the twilight zone of the cave.

Alex Sproul recounts his latest visit to Island Ford Cave on April 18. It appears that IFC is getting quite a lot of traffic, but less graffiti and trash since the kiosk went up. It clearly makes a big difference that people know the cave is cared for. |

Large rocks were delivered to Island Ford cave today. These rocks will help block the entrance to prevent people parking in the cave and making dumping more difficult. Management plan is almost ready.
