In Memoriam
Dr. Clifford F. Lindsay
of Frankford, West Virginia
11/13/1946 - 1/10/2022

Dr. Clifford F. Lindsay

We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of Cliff Lindsay of Frankford, WV. Cliff was one of the founding members of the West Virginia Cave Conservancy and had served as a Director since its inception. Cliff was involved in many caving organizations and made many contributions to the sport. Those of you that have visited the Fuller’s and SSS entrances to Culverson Creek have experienced his generosity first hand. The WVCC has lost a true visionary and leader and we will miss him and his contributions.

In Memoriam Ray Cole Jr. of Alexanria, Virginia

Raymond Cole Jr. 1946-2017

We were deeply saddened by the recent passing of Ray Cole Jr. of Alexandria, VA. Ray was a great friend to the caving community and the WVCC and will be sorely missed. He left instructions for friends to donate to the WVCC in lieu of flowers and for that we sincerely thank him as well as those who have donated in his name.

Living on Karst Awareness

The Living on Karst publication (PDF) was created to educate landowners living in limestone regions of the potential sensitivities and environmental dangers associated with karst geology. Published originally by the Cave Conservancy of Virginia, WVCC is grateful for permission to further distribute it to our members and friends. We feel that all cavers should have familiarity with the information in this publication. We strongly recommend that everyone share this publication with anyone potentially in need of awareness and understanding of the special considerations that should be observed in karst areas. Spread the Word! Read Living on Karst online here.
